Home Depot Or Lowes--Granite. Pros/Cons?

No, really, a friend, not a "friend", who loves my kitchen and wants granite. She went with her dh to HD or Lowes (not sure) and looked there. (Totally not the TKO folks, by the way)

I do not engage in any debate or discussion with her on this subject. Another friend of ours who is currently looking just asked me today what's wrong with granite at HD or Lowes? Since I have never bought a stone there, I have no idea. I know you can't choose your slab, but can someone enlighten me on this?
