Matco Floor Jack The Beast

[am4x4] plans to do an extension to level the jack, but so far it works well and is definitely a talking point at off-road meetings.

Floor Jack Recommendations

You can jack under the rear control arm bolt with a board if your jack doesn't have a rubber pad in the saddle (to avoid bugging the bolt) and place the stand under the pinch with the cover on top support metal. You can also, if you're not doing suspension work, toe-in lift with a split hockey puck in the middle of your jack to engage the toe-in and place the bracket under the rear subframe bolt with a rubber cover over the top (which are also readily available, and which I have.) You can also (again, if you're not doing rear suspension work) place supports under the rear axle beam; I'm using the rubber covers again to avoid scratching it but it's a pretty good place to put them and again you can lift the pinch using the hockey puck.

I spent over $200.00 last year on one of these... My man Matco assured me it was made in the USA, and that's the ONLY reason why I spent money on it instead of getting a comparable jack from Sears or similar (for less money). I actually couldn't find the Snap-On man, and Mac isn't around anymore, being the man Matco officially had a Mac truck, which is another problem...I wanted him give it back, but no, they won't take it, and I haven't used it enough to hurt him yet. and said) it was an American product. Even for stupid questions. Should have gotten the Craftsman for less money, or spent more and got the Snap-On (well, the 2 ton Snap-On was about the same price as the Matco and the comparable Snap-On is superior at 500 dollars, but ...). My last Snap-On plug (which I'm sure has been removed by OMC) lasted over 15 years and was in constant use most of the time. Anyway, I learned my lesson.
